I think I killed my computer a Dell XPS410 running Xp media center edition sp2
I was having trouble getting service pack 3 to load kept telling me I needed
xml 6.10.1129 I worked 4 ever no luck every thing I tried
No luck so I was told to use a copy of XP professional service pack 3when asked I used my pc serial # then it said it was installing I was told that they are the same just mine has more bells and whistles and all that it would do is install sp3
Now I can’t get any thing to work I tried to restart with my CD and it says to insert the other CD and it won’t load I tried starting in safe mode
It will say windows is starting and still nothing what can I do I just want my
Xp media center with sp3

I think I was misunderstood the last thing I want to do is any thing illegal

Ok update I reinstalled with my Xp media center edetion sp2 CD and now I have the Xp media center edetion back but the desk tops and other things are gone I can find pictuers and music so I am sure they are there but how can I reconnect with them as they were we all 3 had diffrent things and they seem to be gone can you help me
