How do I know if added memory is working?
Hello,
I have just added a memory module to my system. The " My Computer specs haven't altered nor has the bios" how do I know if the additional memory is being recognized and utilized?
Thanks,
mbk

Further to what "bicycle bill" has said, I suspect you may already know that it has not been seen as you state My Computer and BIOS have not changed.
Is the ram you have added known to be good.
If you are in any doubt take out the original stick, place the new stick in that slot, ie: If you only have two slots the first one and then see if the new ram is recognised.
Ram should be placed as follows - the sticks are either matched ie: both say 1Gb or if not the larger should go in slot 1 and the other in slot 2. Ideally they should both be the same speed, but if not it will only work at the slower speed of the sticks.
The most common cause for a new stick not being seen is that it is not seated fully in the pins.
Please remember the usual anti-static precautions

"how do I check memory?
I have just added memory to my computer. How do I see if it is working?"
MBK You posted this on 3rd Sept and never replied to the help offered.
You have now posted the same question but worded slightly differently on this thread.
Up to this time you have not replied HERE either.
