What are Compressed Old Files
I have Wxp installed in my Laptop. When I perform a Disk Cleanup, there is a check box "Compressed Old Files". Should I too check this box or not? What is he purpose of these files?

There is no check box that says, "Compressed Old Files".

There is no point in compressing your old files (files that have not been used in a while). In enterprise storage, this can amount to 100's of GB's, but amounts to squat on your system.

Compressed files must be uncompressed/recompressed when used, slowing access to them, too.

Don't bother.
