Solved: not enough server storage
I know this error normally is cured by changing a registry entry or removing newly added virus protection. But not in my case. What's more, I'm only getting the error when trying to map a particular drive on a particular XP computer. I can access the c:\ drive on the computer but not e:\. And the problem isn't on the computer trying to map the drive because I get the same error from any computer trying to access that drive. I've run chkdsk on the drive and turned off indexing but no luck.

Any ideas?

Which PC did you change the registry entry on, the Server or the Client?
What values did you try?
Did you reboot after changing the value?

I changed the value on both computers. And, yes the e:\ drive is shared.

Can you map the drive on the computer that has the share? (map to itself)
Have you deleted and recreated the share?
Can you share a folder on the E: drive and then map it?
Any errors in the Event Viewer on any of the PCs?

I had set the stack value to 15, which is what the KB suggested, but that apparently wasn't enough. I double it to 30 and now it works.
