Solved: Disable Mouse-Over Flash PopUps....
The title says it all...

I am trying to DISABLE popups when you mouse over a featured-underlined-word (or how ever it is termed) which causes an annoying Flash popup.

At least if I remember correctly this has to do with FLASH ? Correctomundo or ?

This is not the standard underlined HYPER LINK this is a double green underlined item.

Thank you for your help! I am going to browse around the board and try to find the answer and maybe answer a few as well! -Z

Smile Re: Disable Mouse-Over Popups
Try this.
Open IE, click on tools, internet options, click the security tab and highlight restricted sites. Click on the sites button below it and on the add this site to the zone: enter this just as it look's *.us.intellitxt.com add others like *.uk.intellitxt.com for UK sites.
Then restart internet explorer

WooT ! ! !

That worked excellent!

I am just curious... where can you find more info on this. Both info on how this works and more on sites I could block like "*.us.intellitxt.com" and how this works.

Thank You !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit:

I found some more sites and I guess there is more? But here is some starters and additional links....

Via: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=146499

This page and the users post spoke of editing your HOSTS file. Its from the year 2006. Its much easier just to add it to IE's (or your favorite browser's) "Restricted Sites" list as per MRC-MAN.

The page states that the info was sourced from www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

This is a portion from that page...

For Kontera's ContentLink ads, just add:

127.0.0.1 kona.kontera.com

Here are some others:

127.0.0.1 tribal.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 jupiter.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 itxt.vibrantmedia.com
127.0.0.1 freecodecs.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 ign.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 itxt3.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 itxt2.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 itxt1.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 itxt4.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 designtechnica.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 1src.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 ubergizmo.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 howardchui.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 mobilewhack.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 sprintusers.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 afterdawn.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 softpedia.uk.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 freewarepalm.uk.intellitxt.com

Original poster "wellsjs" (John)

I found this info by searching out "*.us.intellitxt.com"

One more thing... I would not want to steer anyone from this but it is a warning. Thanx to all the muck and fluck that "MALWARE" (best describes ALL unwanted garbage ware) provides us today, the edited HOSTS file offered in many places can cause problems. I've had problems running LONG edited HOSTS. Problems simply accessing sites easily or experienced very... very... slow page loading because the list is super long. Veery Sad... very true.

Cheers!

This may be old news by now but since Windows XP is not dead yet plus you find many of the wrong links for a similar issue/fix to this annoying pop-up senario, I thought I would respond and mark this thread as fixed for my issue with the "Mouse Over Poop-up"

Thank you for the info MRC-MAN for the information on how to Disable Mouse-Over Popup's and consider this solved for now!

...intelli wha?
