Exclamation My computer keeps restarting!
I'm not very tech-savvy, so I was hoping someone here would be able to help. Bare with me please!

Recently, my computer has been restarting after booting. First, it started doing it only a few times and I was able to access the computer after I let it re-boot a few times. Now it's restarting so much that I can only get on the computer by booting into safe mode. I've tried scanning for viruses using AVG and Malwarebytes. Neither of them turned up with any viruses. Then I tried to do System Restore, twice. They both failed. I've ran out of ideas...

I don't know if it could be a power problem with my computer, or a virus, possibly low memory? I just know that I don't have the money to take it in for repairs or to get a new computer.

I hope someone can help. Thanks!

Sounds like it could be a driver problem. While in safe mode right click on My Computer and select 'Properties'. Click on the 'Advanced' tab. Under 'Startup and Recovery' click on 'Settings'. Under 'System failure' uncheck 'Automatically restart'.

Boot into windows normally. Instead of restarting you should be presented with a blue screen. Noticed the 'Stop' error code near the bottom of the screen and any other info. in that area. Post the stop code.

When I tried that an alert pop-up said:

"System Control Panel Applet

Windows cannot send administrative alerts unless the Alerter service is running.

To start the Alerter now, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to the

Administrative Tools, and then click Computer Management. In the left pane,

double-click System tools, then click Services. In the right pane, double-click

Alerter. Windows starts, under Startup, click Automatic."

Do I have to do this for it to work?

In the Advanced tab>>Startup and Recovery>>Settings>>System Failure - uncheck 'Send an Administrative Alert'. Also be sure 'Automatically restart' is unchecked.

Unfortunately it didn't work...

The tower has been a lot louder lately (I believe it's the fan). Maybe it has to do with

that or something else going on inside of it? I blew it out with compressed air

recently, hoping that would work but it didn't.

If you have any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks!
