That bold entry is simply the entry which allows the Java Update Scheduler to cut in at startup time to phone home to check for updates.

Posting a HJT log means none of us "ordinary" posters can help you any more and the specialist advisers will probably prefer an up to date version of HijackThis to be used before you post another one.

I have some spair change two throw in this discussion. The file that you are trying to uninstall, is located in a different spot then what the uninstall thingy is calling for. My suggestion would be to locate the java file manually and point the uninstaller to it.

The answer to the second questions is no.

Ok look into a manual uninstall of the java version you have..
Then reinstall java, NOT from a download, go to a website that requires java, like www.pogo.com and start to play a game, it will forward you to a webpage where you can install java, without having to choose what version to install. Heck you could even try that now if you havnt already.

Hi RocktheJungle

I been following this thread and had a thought.
Have you tried installing Java, from a new Windows User Account?
