Thank you so much for your speedy reply and at 73 I need all the help I can get. Did as you suggested and a window security screen came up with (6) choices:
Lock Computer, Log Off, Shut down, Change Passsword, Task Mgr. and Cancel. None of these seem to provide relief.
I was the administrator on both my wifes and my PC. She needs to do a rollback to a previous date so I got on her unit to accomplish this task to learn I am not the administrator any longer nor is she. (She is only one listed and with limited access)
Plus the 3 choices available on user account...
Still no access to CD Rom Drive, but did free myself from floppy access. Did a DIR at a D: prompt and here is what screen indicates. Volume in D drive has no label.

Could not agree with you more, and have the restore disk for 98 Compaq but since I have no access to CD drive as yet do not know how to proceed with just floppy support. And being a 70 plus retired chef I am not the sharpest knife in the kitchen.
The computer in question is a Compaq that originally had 98 on an unpartitioned drive.
