After speaking to HTC themselves they suggested doing a 'hard reset' on the phone and that seems to have cured the problem, for now anyway.
I will have to keep and eye on anything in particular that sets it off again.

Right then, I have finally got round to connecting the Macbook to the router via a cable. I left the PC off so only the Mac laptop was wired to the router. Turned on the wi-fi on the HTC and eventually get an IP Configuration warning pop up on the Macbook..
This says ' 192.168.1.5 in use by...
I tried that with the phone but for some reason it wouldn't do a static IP address even though the setting was ticked and all the settings put in, it still kept being assigned by DHCP.

Yes, only the PC is hardwired. I'll try the mac later it's busy at the moment.
Just noticed something else. The PC dropped it's internet conection but the HTC and everything else connected to the WiFI stayed connected without issue. The internet then came back to life on the PC and then up pops...
I have done a reset via the router login page but not by pressing the button on the router itself, would there be any difference?
Also done a firmware update.

Sometimes the internet connection between the router and the PC is dropped. I have to unplug the router and plug it back in to get things going again.
Sometimes there are up to 5 devices attached.
