    Unusual times outs in IE8

We have a website that times out after 240 minutes. This worked fine in IE6/7, but in IE8, we are seeing unexpected time outs between 10-30 minutes it seems like. Not sure what could be checked to attempt to resolve an issue like this. Does anyone have any advice or things I should look into...

Registry - point path to current user profile

I have I have registry key that points to C:\Data. I'd like to change it to %USERPROFILE%\DATA (C:\Documents and Settings\<current user signed in>\). %USERPROFILE% doesn't seem to work in the registry. Would someone know what I need to type to point it to that file path?

HP Laserjet 2300 jams consistently with half-sheets

I have a printer that consistently jams when printing half-sheets (8.5x5.5) from the manual feed tray. Most of the time they will jam just after exiting the toner cartridge. Full sheets print from the feed tray normally. I wonder if it's the type of paper we are buying are if this model printer...

    OS across multiple computers?

Perhaps not an exclusively Windows 7 question.. But is there an OS or method of sharing an OS across multiple computers? Or something more impressive than just file sharing across a LAN?

    Fix burn-in on Plasma tv?

I can find a scroll bar wiper in the TV options I'll try. I wonder.. Do you think there is a Windows app that will do the pixel shifting that you mentioned?

    Fix burn-in on Plasma tv?

For the last month my son has been playing a computer game on our plasma tv for hours at end. I did not think this to be an issue since he has always used his xbox on the tv without issues. However, his computer game has static menus that have burnt into the screen. Is there a way I can fix...

To page file, or not to page file?

After testing, it seems System managed is the way to go. However, and this may just be personal opinion: Setting to No page file, rebooting to let it delete itself, and then setting to system managed seems to run smoother than going from a set size to system managed.

To page file, or not to page file?

Oh, I fully agree with that, trust me. Still wondering about optimal page file settings for low ram systems though =).

To page file, or not to page file?

That is indeed the question today! After looking on here and Google, along with my own expereince I'm torn at how to use the page file. On newer machines with lots of RAM, I don't feel there is a need for one. My question mainly is concerning older machines in the 256-512MB range. I want the...

Format 4GB SDHC card to FAT16

I actually found out a solution for my attempt over the weekend! I tried the cmd format command, and could get it to FAT16, but I had trouble setting a partition size. Ended using a live cd for gparted and was able to get it to 2GB and FAT16. Though the attempt was a failure. Even with doing...

Format 4GB SDHC card to FAT16

So here is my dilemma. I have a 4GB SDHC card I wanted to use in a camera that doesn't support SDHC cards, just old SD cards. I read that SD cards use FAT16 and format upto 2GB. Is there an application I could use to format my SDHC with FAT16 and bring it down to a 2GB partition? I just want...

    File sharing requires password

There is a particular computer on my network that requires a password whenever you try to access it's files over the network. I used to restrict it by user name, but I've since turned on simple file sharing. Whenever I access the computer with \\Computer name I am prompt for a password and guest...
