    Vista and Conexant AC'97 Audio

Doing some research, I've come across a few cases of this happening with dual-boot Linux systems as well. I still haven't found an answer but if there are any Linux gurus with any ideas, they would be appreciated.

    Vista and Conexant AC'97 Audio

Onboard audio, still under warranty, so I hate to crack the case open.

    Vista and Conexant AC'97 Audio

No, it is acting like the hardware is not installed at all. I can't uninstall, roll back driver, no recognition at all. I tried installing XP clean on the other partition, just to see if it would find something, and no luck. It's like the sound card doesn't exist

    Vista and Conexant AC'97 Audio

No joy with either Windows Restore or ERUNT backup. It's a bit frustrating not having audio.

    Vista and Conexant AC'97 Audio

I installed Vista on a separate partition of my HP Pavilion dv5035. I uninstalled Vista after problems with antivirus conflicts. Now, in XP, my modem and audio card are no longer being recognized. I believe they are the same hardware. It's not a matter of drivers, they are properly...

    Web Log Analysis

Does anyone have any suggestions for a GUI web log analysis program. I need to run it off windows, with apache .gz files downloaded on my harddrive. Having issues finding something that supports apache common and gzipped files. Appreciate some help. Can't get AWStats or Analog to work.

    Lost Boot Sector

I finally got a chance to use Testdisk. If anyone has any experience using this, maybe this will help. It found the discrepency in Boot records, and when it tried to rewrite, I got a flush error, and boot sector could not be written. Any thoughts?

    Lost Boot Sector

Problem there is I don't know how to run standard .exe files in Bart PE, I've only used plugins. All of those come with copy and paste code to make them work (.inf and Nu2, etc...)

    Lost Boot Sector

It is a data recovery program plugin that I used in Bart PE. PE itself isn't recognizing the drive either. It wants to format the drive.

    Lost Boot Sector

It is just the boot partition that is missing. The problem is, the harddrive is not partitioned anymore. I have found the whole file structure using a recovery program in PE, however the freeware version doesn't let you copy files, only view them. I have already tried Ultimate Boot CD, but I...

    Lost Boot Sector

I tried to boot my old laptop the other day, and received a blue screen saying there is an unmountable boot sector. Turns out my harddrive lost the boot partition. It will not boot, windows recovery doesn't reconize the drive, so I can't repair it that way, and I have some files that I'm not...

    Broadband Monitoring Software

Thanks Squashman. I'll give that a shot. The router log didn't work as well as I would have liked. It shows requests for connection, but the problem is, it sends requests every 10 seconds, which after days of not being connected adds up to a bunch of log entries. Hopefully I won't have this...

    Broadband Monitoring Software

Thanks for the ideas. The router log does keep track of that along with other info, but easy enough to sort it. If you have any more thoughts, they are appreciated. At least now I have some ammo with my provider.

    Broadband Monitoring Software

Does anyone have any suggestions of a program for monitoring my connection status? Lately my modem has been dropping off line considerably, and I would like to keep a log of when it is connected and when it is off line, so I can report it to my provider. They have repeatedly sent techs to the...
