When I check the Discord account, I see that the last 'version' was back in 2017.
I suspect that the update may have promoted another user's profile over mine. For a brief time I let my partner have a profile when she was between computers.
Anyone else had this issue? Thoughts on a solution...
This is the stuff of nightmares.
I ran a Windows update last night on my 'spare' laptop. This morning it is as clean as a whistle.
No saved documents, downloads, pics, music - nothing. Specific software I have added is gone.
I read that there is a 'bug' out there that affects some PCs...
Thanks to the respondents. I just checked my folders again after about 24 hours. Problem fixed!
I had followed one piece of advice earlier, to not have all items in the folders presented as thumbnails. This seemed like a fairly low-impact approach, so I tried it first. It didn't seem to make a...
At least in Chrome you use the right-mouse function to access a menu.
The 4th option is SAVE AS (Cntl+S) and you can save a copy of the webpage.
The other option, and this works best if you are only interested in small page rather than the entire front-end of the site is to go to PRINT...
I have a problem when I try to open Downloads.
At the point I click to open the message is always: Not Responding with 'Working on it'.
Tried to reboot, but did not fix.
Is this something I can fix without losing what is in the folder?
Thanks so much in advance!
I can give you one bit of advice.
I ended up getting a new laptop as my Aspire was stone-cold dying when I was on Second Life (yeah, SL players still exist). That fixed that problem (accessing SL), but I was still having the issue as the lappie was still just not operating. I would check and I...
Just tried again. Praise the Pentium Gods!! The problem resolved itself!
must have been some moisture left there and overnight it evaporated!
Thanks to anyone to checked out the thread, went 'sheesh, *******!' and still left some advice. : )
In addition; it is an Acer Nitro 5 N17C1. I think I purchased it in Feb 2018.
Nothing fancy, it serviceable for my needs. Uses Windows 10, and I do tend to the store stuff I think is important on external drives. Still, I am kicking myself for making a really basic and pretty stupid mistake...
Will that still require a reboot before I can tell for sure?
And that will also take care of any of the hotkeys I managed to create?
I was just totally confused that nothing was consistent. A single character might open a web browser or turn Youtube on, or just show 3 letters in caps.
I just sent my main laptop - an Acer - into Siberia.
Cause: spilled some drink on the keyboard. I grabbed paper towel and wiped it off.
However, I was also depressing all the Function keys at the same time. When I try a bit later to type in text for a search, it is complete gibberish.
