    msconfd.dll

Just ran msconfig/startup and found "idemlog.exe". Apparently this is not a good thing. I uncheck it, rebooted, ran CWShredder and it worked perfectly. CWS.Msconfd was removed without problem. Is "idemlog.exe" associated with coolwebsearch?

Hi Brendandonhu - thanks for the reply. Yes I tried in safe mode. Same thing. Froze and rebooted.

    msconfd.dll

I've tried reading all of the threads that already pretain to this varient, but I'm just a little overwhelmed. Got hit with this bad boy and managed to stablize my homepage and eliminate the "extra" bookmarks. But when I run CWShredder it freezes about half way through and then my comuter...

    cwshredder problem

Have been using cwshredder for awhile now downloading updates as they occur. Downloaded the lastest version, save it to program files, ran it, worked fine (found CWS.Qtasks), deleated it. Tried to run it again the next day and got a message that "the application failed to initialize properly"...

    power surge

The only things that are plugged into the back of my tower are the keyboard, mouse, printer, and my cable plug. The message indicates that the the power limit is from an unknown USB port. Thanks for the reply kiwiguy. Any sugesstions from here?

    power surge

Maybe it might help if I mentioned that the message I get says that a USB device has exceeeded its power limit on the Hub Port. I don't know what that all means.

    power surge

I don't know if it's related or just a coincidence, but after my computer (OS Windows XP) automatically downloaded Service Pack 2, I keep getting these reminders from the toolbar that I have a power surge on a unknown port; unplug the hardware; and reset. I can't figure out which unknown port...

PLEEEEESE HELP ME...INTERFUN ? ..(incl. hijack this)

I also found that the problem has taken care of itself. There were two new items to download and after I did and ran Spybot, the problem disappeared. I'm running Windows XP by the way.

PLEEEEESE HELP ME...INTERFUN ? ..(incl. hijack this)

I'm also getting the same error check as UHURU7 with the addition of "cabrotor" plus all that other stuff in German. Firman1 mentioned on a different post that he thought that it might be a bug within the newer Spybot version as he's had numerous complaints and concerns about this. I've run...

    Virus?

Just ran Trend's Housecall (I have Norton w/Autoupdate plus a myriad of other "stuff"). But Housecall found an infected file at C: Windows/system32/secure.. named JS Startpage.AD. It said it was "non-cleanable"; but that I could delete it. Okay - so what is it, can I delete it, should I. Hijack...

    system32.dll

Thanks for the look-see on my hijack log. Anything I could delete from the list or are they all needed ( I'm a neat freak). Lastly, stupid question of the day - what's the best way to check if my Windows Media player works?

    system32.dll

Thanks rancid. I have Norton with Auto-protect (and I use Liveupdate regulary). Went to safe mode, couldn't find System32.dll. Deleted it from R.B.; ran cwshredder again and it didn't appear in the bin. Is it a virus because Norton has said for months that I don't have any?
