    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

p.s. This system must have been running @ 3840 Mhz for several years before I noticed any problems cropping up. Seems I should be able to get away with 3600 Mhz. I am hoping to get 10 yrs out of this machine, I am a lot less concerned now.

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Solved. [AI Overclock Tuner] was set to Manual, which means I must have tampered with it at one point and forgot about it. Switching it back to [Auto] set the target clock speed to 3300 and I reenabled AMD Turbo mode. Prime 95 Small-FFT ran for 13 hours straight overnight and temp never went...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Wikipedia: "Thuban" and "Zosma" Phenom II processors support AMD's Turbo Core overclocking performance-boost technology. When not all cores are needed, the processor will automatically overclock up to half of the cores by up to 500 MHz, leaving the other half idle. In turn, when the application...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Attached is a screenshot showing Hardware monitor + Prime 95 in action. I can't say 100% I am not overclocking, but I never recall tampering with any settings in the BIOS. Can anyone check for sure if 3840 MHz is stock for a Phenom II 1100T? I did turn off the Turbo mode the CPU has, but...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

I tested and tuned up the OCZ SSD using their tools. It claimed 96% health and found no new bad sectors. fresh windows 10 installation went OK, but alas yield the same result as usual. Prime 95 crashes within a few minutes over there too. This time I found many of these in the Prime95...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

This forum post has been so infested with ads and frivolous nonsense I needed to hack a user CSS to view your posts. { display: none; } ;( Going to schedule the fresh install for next weekend. I had set aside a blank 30 GB partition on the OCZ drive just for an occasion like this. I have...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

SeaTools would not work with my SSD drives. I was able to enter the DOS based program but it just spun trying to detect devices. chkdsk was run overnight. Would not run directly from the prompt b/c the OS was using the drive. Ran it at startup overnight, I found the computer at the windows...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Been away some time this week. FurMark: ran about 5 hours worth of "burn-in" test. GPU temp rise levels off around 56C. CPU is hardly bothered, ~35C. - Its stable. Are there any specific settings for FurMark runs? I'm doing 1280x1024 (the highest res I normally use) with 8x MSAA. Oddly, I...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Still happens with Norton gone. The trand with the Prime95 is that the system is more vulnerable to the "small FFT" torture test then the Blended test. I'm running out of ideas. I've caught Prime 95 crashing anywhere from 40 to 65 C.... mid 60's C is the highest I've seen before it goes down...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

The games I'm playing now really do not relyably trigger the problem, maybe once in 10 gaming hours. So I find it easier to use Prime since it will consistantly trigger the crash. I have a feeling that If I get Prime95 stable - the games will also be. Throughout the last two days, the Clean...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Attached is the pic showing 5 more passes with no errors. I have done a few more tests with prime95, one of them failed when the Temp was in the 40's, which further goes against the overheat possibility. Two more have continued long enough to reach 60C. However, I put windows into a clean...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

12 hrs got through 3.5 passes on memtest86. zero errors. Going to need another overnight run. A pic to be attached. I'd be surprised if its RAM at this point, I think I would be having larger problems if it was. The 60C+ from prime95 does concern me enough to entertain it could be...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

Since the RAM is going to take overnight, going to throw in a few things now. More to come tomorrow. Here are my specs: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/xvLHZyKBKRFvcGsTj8YCHZl cmd commands: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.248] (c) 2017 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved...

    Solved Diagnosing CPU instability

No BSOD, controls and screen freeze, need to hit restart button except in the case of prime95 which reboots the machine. I could not find any prime95 error logs but I am supposing it does not have the oppertunity to write them. I am working through your advice, might be day or two.
