    Rebuild or demote?

I have an associate who has a SBS 2003 server / network running Exchange 2003. He's purchased a new HP server with Windows Server 2012 (Standard). He was intending to use this to completely replace his SBS box. Because of an issue with one application running on his SBS box he needs to keep...

    Windows Server 2008 RDS question

Hi everyone. We have a Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environment (Windows Server 2008 R2) in which we have a load balancer server (e.g. - a gateway) and two host controllers. It's all setup for load balancing and we're using it to serve a single application to our user base through...

    WiFi and Bluetooth question

Thanks for the info. I'm a little confused about the Bluetooth stuff, should I choose to go that rotue. Take this item for example: http://www.magic-pro.com/en/product/other/ProMiniBTTouch2.htm It looks pretty cool, but what confuses me is that the system requirements include a Bluetooth...

    WiFi and Bluetooth question

Okay, forget my last post. This doesn't seem to pose a problem. So now the question is whether or not to use Bluetooth vs. regular 2.4 GHz RF. Which is better? The keyboard/mouse unit won't every be used more than 15' away from the PC. Any thoughts?

    WiFi and Bluetooth question

Thanks for the quick replies. I've been reading up on it and it does appear to be an issue, which is why I asked. Both Bluetooth and an 802.11g network use the 2.4 GHz band so collisions are bound to occur, and the closer the devices seem to each other seems to enhance the the issues that...

    WiFi and Bluetooth question

Hi all. I'm not sure if this question should go into this forum but here goes. I have a PC I planned to hook up to a TV. The PC would use 802.11g WiFi to access my home network and the Internet. I started looking for a mini keyboard/mouse to use with this and realized that there might be an...

    Weird distribution group issue

Good idea. I'll have to look into that and get back to you.

    Weird distribution group issue

That's a good point but I've checked out that angle and it's not the issue.

    Weird distribution group issue

Ah, okay. From what you're thinking what exactly are you trying to see happens? Do you want to see if this user that shouldn't be in the DL gets a message?

    Weird distribution group issue

No one here could say whether or not it was every just a plain DL so it's hard to say. When you say you'd setup a dummy one, what do you mean? A dummy one what exactly?

    Weird distribution group issue

So if I'm not mistaken, using ADModify as recommended on that web site will wipe out all the e-mail addresses in the distribution list and then I'll just add back in the folks who are supposed to be there. Does that sound right?

    Weird distribution group issue

Nope, she's not a member of the security group that emails to this DL would go to. Strange, eh? She was at one time, however, so I'm wondering if there's something somewhere just screwing around with things. I'm not sure about the forwarding rule thing. I'd bet not, but who knows?

    Weird distribution group issue

I have a user who receives e-mail sent to an Exchange 2007 e-mail distribution list, but she's not a member of that list. I have verified via the Exchange Management Shell that she is a member of one distribution list, which happens to be a mail enabled security group. The commands I used to...

    Windows cached password question

Thanks for the quick replies, Darius. You definitely understand my original question now and what you just posted makes sense. Thanks.

    Windows cached password question

That answer confused me, Darius... :) He's logging into his local laptop with his domain credentials. To you is that the same thing as what you said, "logging into his local laptop without the VPN involved"? He should be able to log into the SSL VPN with his new password even though his...
