That's what I did, and believe it or not, even after uninstalling quick time, the movies are still playing on quick time. How is that possible?

    media player default

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. What I'm saying is that even though I have windows media player as my default player, when I'm downloading movies (other than wmv files) from the Netscape browser, they play in quicktime instead of in the windows media player

    media player default

Yes it is, and as long as I use Internet Explorere these files open with the windows media player, I only have the problem in Netscape.

    media player default

When I right click I don't have the option of which program to use to open the file. I'm using Windows XP pro. does that make a differance? I seem to remember seeing that option when I'd right click before, but I think I had Windows 98 at that time.

    media player default

I want to use Windows Media Player as my default player for all wmv, avi, mpeg, etc. But I can't seem to get the settings right to do this. I unchecked all of those extensions for the Quick Time player & showed the windows media player as my preference under helper applications on Netscape, but...

    Sound problem

I can't get the sound to work. I upgraded to XP pro from 98 I've got a brand new hard drive, I know the sound card is good and so are my speakers. I have the drivers and everything shows as working....but no sound. When I reboot it starts to play the music then shuts off.

    Tired of double clicking

 Can anyone tell me how to change the setting for my mouse so I only have to single click instead of double click. I knew where to change it on Windows 98 but I can't find where to change it in Windows XP. I went to my computer and clicked on the mouse icon but that only lets you...

    "I Can't Hear""

I've got the Aureal Vortex sound card, and I've already downloaded their driver, however the driver only specified Windows 95 & 98 and the person I got the sound card from said XP had it's own drivers and I shouldn't need to download any additional driver.

    "I Can't Hear""

I recently upgraded my computer from Windows 98 to XP Pro after adding a new hard drive and additional memory. Since I did, I have not been able to get the sound to work. My sound card is good, and so are my speakers, I'm sure it's a software/setting problem, but I don't know where to go from...
