  • Hello

I've been getting the exact same message "Photodraw has encountered an error and .....".

I just bought a new computer with Windows XP Professional and loaded Office 2003. I wanted to load Photodraw 2000 from my old Office package as I had upgraded to Office 2003 on my old computer and everything still worked.

When I loaded Photodraw on my new computer, I kept getting that same message you are "Photodraw has encountered an error and ....."

Somewhere in the string of emails on this site, someone said to Uninstall Photodraw 2000 and then reinstall under a different folder other than 'Microsoft Office'. ie C:\Program Files\. So I did, when the install comes up with what folder you want the files to go to, I removed "Microsoft Office' from the end; so it looked like above C:\Program Files\. I then let the set up finish. Without rebooting I then went into Windows Explorer to find the Photodraw.exe file. You should find it under C:\Program Files\Office (not Microsoft Office). Click on the Office folder and the Photodraw.exe file should reside in there.
Right Click on the .exe file
    Click Properties
    Click on the Compatability tab
Under 'Compatibility Mode' select 'Windows 98/Windows ME'
    Click OK

Then double click on the Photodraw.exe file to launch for the first time. I almost fell off my chair when it worked !!!

    Good luck.
