New beast of a hub, major problems

Well, I discovered why the networking wasn't working... the computers are networked together, but the administrative settings on the hub itself won't allow the computers access to eachother. I found this out only after discovering they were listed in "add a network place" but I got an error...

New beast of a hub, major problems

I have a 3Com SuperStack II Desktop Switch 3C16902 that I'm trying to configure, but I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing. When I first aqquired it I thought it would be like any other hub/router and that I could set it up using the Network Wizard, but evidently that's not so. After reading...

    Image Editor

I don't know anything about Gimpshop, but I'm assuming it's a version of Gimp minus the need to install GTK. If so, you can go to the Gimp's website and they have plenty of good tutorials on how to use it: http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

    Solved: Preferred Firewall?

Call me odd, but I can't stand Sygate or Zone Alarm. My preferred firewall is Kerio Personal Firewall, for several reasons: -low system resource usage -code injection blocking -application behavior blocking -boot/shut down incoming connection attempt blocking ...Among other things. I...

Problems with all types of Media Players

Lol, I don't think it's your fan but your new hdd. It increased your power requirements, and a shortage of power usually shows up first in either the cd rom drives acting screwy or the video card. After you said you had installed a new hdd and then that you had a stock psu, it tipped me off that...

Solved: CD-ROM drive not recognizing discs

Try uninstalling your cd rom driver in device manager and then rebooting and waiting for Windows to automatically install the Windows driver. Also, when you went to install the driver from the Lite-On site, did you uninstall the cd rom driver that was currently installed first?

Problems with all types of Media Players

First... try this... with your computer turned off, unplug a cd rom, you don't have to take it out of the case, just unplug it... then turn on the computer and try playing videos/ playing games and see if it stops freezing. Let me know what happens.
