    Windows XP slowing down daily!

You really don't want to delete the Prefetch files. These are built up over time, and speed up the running of applications, including bootup. The only app that I have seen that doesn't seem to get along with Prefetch at times, is FireFox. Deleting these files will result in a slower bootup, for...

    Windows Memory Diagnostic help.

What makes you think that you have ram issues? And, what type(s)?

Added more memory but not noticing anything better?

 From your tests, the initial is not using prefetch whereas the second one is. My conclusion would be that using prefetch is faster than not using prefetch. The difference in feel between the 384 and 1GB box, is because the former is being forced to use the pagefile due the low...

So, what you are saying is that when I start "Application X", XP may give "consideration" to other files in the prefetch folder, other than those belonging to "Application X"?

"Consideration"??? What do you mean by that? Files in the prefetch folder do not come into play (with the exception of the defrag that runs periodically), until an actual application is started/initiated.

The only reason that I posted is that you stated "the more ram you have the better xp can make use of the prefetch" which seems to imply that ram is being used in the prefetch implementation.

    Partitioning Conundrum !

Easeus has a graphic that shows the partition configuration. And, it allows a particular partition to be either dragged from left to right (creating the unallocated space to the left) or from right to left (creating the unallocated space on the right). I did the former, and when completed...

Prefetch does not involve having apps "ready to lauunch" and does not involve any use of Ram (until the app is actually initiated). All of the "knowledge" of how to initiate the apps more expediatey is maintained in the files in the \prefetch folder.

    Partitioning Conundrum !

I am attempting to expand my C:\ drive from it's current 6GB size (Fat32 BTW). I used Easeus to create 4 GBs of unallocated space from the adjacent partition, and then told Easeus to expand the system drive using this space. The result was the following error: "Failed to complete the batch...

Added more memory but not noticing anything better?

When I say "available" I don't mean "just a little", I mean a few megs. A better measure instead of Available ram is probably the "Commiot Charge" which gives a better representation of how much "memory" has been allocated. Adding ram to a PC that does not need more ram can not result in...
