    Trouble with File Comparison Apps

I am in need of a file comparison application, and I've been trying them out. The trouble I'm having is that all but one of the apps show me this kind of thing, plain\s3\ql\s3\li0\fi432\ri0\sb0\sl240\slmult1\sa240 \f1\fs20, instead of the (.rtf) text I'm trying to compare. I can't find any...

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

Ports are/were not working because of missing drivers. Someone told me I might be able to use the 2.0 ports on the back of the machine since Windows would have installed support for 2.0. I plugged in a mouse and it worked and now I can use a flash drive plugged into one of the other 2.0 ports...

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

I was reading the instructions for Installing the Atheros AR5B125 Wireless (sp63247.exe). It says to double click to install it. Since I have no mouse function, is there some other way I can get it installed? Is there a keyboard equivalent to a double-click?

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

Thank you for the link!! Thanks for the driver info. The Win7 Home Premium was not what I was complaining about. It was HPs OEM version of Win7 Home Premium. As to my version being the same as yours, well. Did you have popups and redirects and things disappearing? Were you able to use...

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

Here's an update: I was just on a chat with HP site after trying to download drivers there. I didn't tell them I'd overwritten their OS with what I thought would be a better one. I was unable to download drivers because — wouldn't you know it — they are have problems with drivers...

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

Yep bought it on the internet. SUPPOSED to be a legal copy. I've complained to the seller, haven't heard back. Don't know how to get a set of HP DVDs. Like I said what was on there before this was like one big virus. And yes, I agree. The problem now is the new OS is definitely the problem...

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

    1. I did not look at the HP site for the driver - because I can't download the driver - because the machine cannot access the internet. I could use this computer to download the driver, but then what? I can't use the USB ports to install the driver and I can't think of any other way to get the...

Solved: Install of Win7 Put Computer Into Coma

I purchased an HP Win7 64-bit Computer which came with a horrible version of the OS. I purchased a new Win7 64-bit disc (with key) online. Installed yesterday. Result: No internet. No Wi-fi. Dead USB ports, so no mouse. I did manage to find and run Windows FixIt. It gave me a list of missing...

Trouble Restoring (XP) Registry with ERDNT

And thank you for your words. I am sorry to hear you are having the same problem, but glad to hear from someone who doesn't automatically assume I am a complete fool. What Mr. Burnett does not grasp is that I am following ERUNT's instructions, that running ERDNT.EXE has fixed several...

Trouble Restoring (XP) Registry with ERDNT

If it had worked 500 times before, yes. I try to restore — like I have 500 other times — by double clicking on ERDNT.EXE. ERDNT.EXE pops up and runs. 500 times before, it would then show a message that said the restore was complete. BUT - like I've said 5 times before, now it stops partway...
