Norton vs. Malwarebytes

I currently have Norton. I got it at a discount last year. It is due for renewal in about two months. I am interested in Malwarebytes since it is less expensive. But I'm concerned it's a "get what you pay for" deal, meaning it wouldn't protect my PC as well as Norton.

I tried searching for reviews online but it's hard to tell what is a real review and what Norton or Malwarebytes pays someone to review favorably. Techguy has always given me good advice on PC related issues, so I'm looking for some here. Any thoughts on Norton vs Malwarebytes would be helpful and appreciated.

I know of 2 sites that do antivirus testing:
http://www.av-comparatives.org/
https://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/index

PC Magazine also reviews security programs, but I don't trust them since way back they appear to try not to give bad reviews of everything. That was when Byte magazine was still around. They may have changed their policy now, not sure.
