Please when you reply just type your reply in the box that appears when you open the topic, not by clicking reply on my post.
2. I will come back when I have analysed it

#7 ·
Is the OS Windows 10
I do appreciate that you have posted in the windows 10 forum

#9 ·
1. How long has 10 been the OS

2. Was the problem ONLY today or have you had problems since installing 10

3. That MB comes with ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 GPU integrated graphics however AMD do not provide a driver for windows 10 for that ARE YOU USING THIS
The last operating system supported using the AMD drivers was Microsoft Windows® 8 with the AMD Catalyst 13.1 driver package, which can be downloaded from the AMD Driver page : http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Driver support for these products under Windows® 8.1 and Windows® 10 is only available via Windows Update. Please enable Windows Update to allow it to automatically detect and install display driver version 8.970.100.9001
4. However looking at the dump am I correct in thinking that you have Nvidia graphics card

5. The dump is inconclusive it appears the problem MAYBE the driver for the Nvidia graphics - if you do have that try driver rollback

6. What Anti virus are you using

Please reply 1 to 6

#10 ·
im not using any. i had avast but removed it. and yes im using a Zotac gtx 650 1G DDR5 card. although that is going to be swapped out in a few days for a Asus gtx 750ti 2G DDR5 i just bought. i have updated my drivers probably about 3 times in the past 2 months as nvidia released them. and how will i know which driver to roll back to?

#11 ·
1. I do not mind how long we spend on this
I NEVER leave a topic.

2. However please do as I ask
Please reply 1 to 6
do not bother doing that now, but I think you have missed questions 1 and 2
when you reply to another post would you please paragraph it
you last is not easy to read

3. roll back to whatever rollback offers in device manager if it does not offer rollback
download this driver DO NOT install it
Save it to your desktop

Version 355.98 - WHQL
Release Date Tue Sep 22, 2015
Operating System Windows 10 64-bit
Language English (UK)
File Size N/A

http://www.geforce.co.uk/drivers/results/91948

4. Is Windows Defender enabled

5. The
10586 version of Windows 10 also known as the 1511 version -November 2015
has been temporarily suspende3d by Microsoft due to the large number of problems
However YOU either go this November update before the problems were known of OR when you installed 10 it installed that version
That is why I asked -on my last
How long has 10 been the OS
6. One of the many reported problems is Nvidia driver problems

7. So please answer
1 and 2 on my last
and 4 on this

THEN please proceed rollback if available and test if you still have blue screens
If rollback does not solve it OR is not available download the one I list please and then post back

Please answer at point 7 asap as I am signing off shortly, but will wait for that

ok answers to questions 1 and 2

1. it has always been windows 10 since october as i did a fresh windows 10 install to my hardrive.

2. this problem has accord twice before this occasion within the past month i think.

4. Yes. windows defender is enabled. your tech support guy sysinfo.exe says its disabled but when i look in system tray i see *PC status: Protected*

answer to question 5

5. as i said in answer 1 i installed a fresh windows in October but however i do recall there being a very large windows 10 update in November which i installed through the "windows update" option. I do recall the update being around 3GB in size.

#14 ·
ALSO.

My Nvidia Graphics driver version was 359. i was allowed a roll back to version 358.91 which i did as instructed.

this may be a stupid question but how exactly do i test for blue screens? do i just play my game and wait to see if it ever happens again?

#15 ·
Cheers
the Windows Defender disabled report is a glitch in our system utility tool.
As you have checked that it is enabled all is OK in that respect

In reply to how to test, yes there is no other way to test other than repeating what you were doing when it occurred - eg WOW
and see if it occurs again

If it does please post and include the dump file.

After testing for a few days please update the topic and if all is in order please mark it solved by clicking the mark solved button on your post.

Received by personal conversation
hi i am the guy with the BSOD problem.
it has been one day and i have not had an incident since the roleback which you had me perform.
i have bought a Asus NVIDIA GTX 750TI 2GDDR5 GPU to replace my Zotac GTX 650 GPU.
what driver do you recommend i download for the new card? because i fear that the latest driver may cause another BSOD.
In view of your last, I will examine the dump and post back
Leave the Asus 750 for the time being if that is OK with you.

#20 ·
right click the Microsoft flag left of taskbar
click admin command prompt
type at cmd prompt

msconfig

when it loads click selective startup
click to clear load startup items
click on the service tab
click to check the box hide all microsoft services
then click to disable all - on those services that are left
then click apply and ok

reboot and it will be in clean boot
then test again

Having looked at the latest dump I do not think it is the graphics driver, but I may be wrong
the latest dump is a critical process died error

The process was part of the windows system
It could be caused by a driver, but more likely by another third party process or software

FURTHER to the above HOW please did you uninstall AVAST

#21 ·
ANSWER:
I uninstalled AVAST through the *uninstall or change program* option

ok going to play WOW in clean boot now.
will tell you if i get another bsod.

QUESTION:
can BSOD damage any of my hardware in any way?
i am beginning to want to do a fresh windows 7 install.

#22 ·
I thought you had upgraded 8.1 to 10
so where does 7 enter the equation
OR does this mean
it has always been windows 10 since october as i did a fresh windows 10 install to my hardrive.
you upgraded and THEN did a clean install from installation media

Re AVAST if you get another BSOD
post and send dump
However also download this
https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

and run NOTE CAUTION

damage hardware - very very slim chance

#23 ·
7 isnt in the equation.
i want to get rid of windows 10 and install windows 7 instead because i had no issues with 7 and because i believe i am in the bad update of windows 10. the 1511 version.

i used the avast uninstall-utility
do you want me to now re-install AVAST?

#24 ·
no NOT on any account
Defender is the best for 10

please answer how this 10 was installed - was it the free upgrade from 8.1 and then after a clean install or which
as you cannot do a clean install of 10 on the FREE offer, until you have upgraded from either 7 or 8.1 and according to the dump you had 8.1

#26 · (Edited)
Cheers
Let me know how it is in clean boot
ALSO of course please let me know if you are proceeding to return to 8.1 or 7
I cannot see the point of going back to 7 if 8.1 was OK
Please do let me know immediately you decide, as I am still working on your problem, even when not on the actual forum.

It could of course as you say be the latest round of updates to the 1511
Nov 2015

but it may well be something on your computer that does not sit with these, rather than the update itself

#27 ·
Further to the above on your motherboard there is a BIOS update
Version 2101 for system stability issued 5 August this year
and there is a LAN driver for 10 issued 31 July this year
Version 10.1.505.2015
Description Realtek LAN WIN10 32bit&64bit V10.1.505.2015

http://www.asus.com/uk/supportonly/M5A78L-MUSB3/HelpDesk_Download/

I would most certainly check the LAN driver if you are using Ethernet
I would however hold on the BIOS flash even if you do not have 2101

#28 ·
ok i will let you know if i decide to go back.

also there was one hardware change i probably should have mentioned.
i changed my processor from a amd 4130 quad-core to the current 6300 six-core.
although i did not see it as relevant because i got a bsod before and after the switch.

QUESTION:

the services you had me disable, is it ok if they remain disabled?
i prefer to have them disabled, or are they necessary for the proper running of windows?

#29 ·
Do you know what they were
as they are non Microsoft, there will not be a problem, but the clean boot is not the solution it s only the investigation
When and if you establish it is not blue screening in clean boot then we can troubleshoot the cause

Re you suing Ethernet and Have you checked the driver as per my last
would most certainly check the LAN driver if you are using Ethernet
