Hi all,
Since last week I've been experiencing a issue with my PC rebooting without warning. The issue occurs at seemingly random times, and give no error messages. Most of the time it's during full screen applications, but it has occurred once whilst having several tabs with youtube open at one time. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the frequency either. Sometime's its after half and hour after opening the application, sometimes it's five minutes.
My specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD FX-4350 Quad Core CPU (4.3/4.2GHZ - 4MB CACHE/AM3+)
Motherboard: ASUS® M5A97 LE R2.0 (DDR3, USB3.0, 6Gb/s)
RAM: 8GB KINGSTON DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (1 x 4GB)
GPU: 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960
PSU: CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450
OS: Windows 10 64Bit
I've been trying to isolate the issue without much luck. Last week everything worked fine, and the only new installation since then was a Nvidia graphics driver. I've tried uninstalling and reverting to an older driver, and also installing the latest one that was released today, but the same thing occurs. I've also monitored temperature levels, and everything's fine there. I've tried a system restore, and I've run a memory check, with no issues, but I'm still getting reboots.
In the Event Viewer, the crashes appear as Critical Event 41s (Kernal-Power). Not entirely sure what this means, as the description is pretty vague. I've also disabled auto-restart to try and see a BSOD, but none appears. Just black screen for a second, then restart.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I've hit a bit of a wall here.
Many thanks,
Greg
