hi all I have gigabyte motherboard F2A78M-D3H WITH A FM2= SOCKET WICH WAS RUNNING WELL until I got the no signal message I have tried everything with no success so I bought a new motherboard of the exact model and when I installed the board I got the same message could it be a bad cpu .
many thanks

Without knowing exactly what you have tried, we could be wasting our time suggesting what to do next. Please tell us what you have done to attempt to resolve the problem.
All we know is what motherboard you have installed. Post ALL of your exact system specs; ie exact cpu, exact ram, exact pw supply, etc, etc. Do not post "500W" pw supply; post the exact brand and model#
Possible however not likely. CPUs are actually pretty hard to hurt unless you physically damage them during install OR overclock/overvolt them. More likely a failed pw supply. Do you hear the system running when you hit the pw button? Do you hear a POST beep?
thanks for the replay I have removed the cmos battery and I have removed everything from the board and re plugged everything back in one at a time and yes the hard drive is spinning also bought new ram same as the old ram cpu fan is working and all the lights on the pc is working fine and the only message I get is no signal I have tried a hdmi lead and a vga lead with no success.
many thanks

You do not have to pull the battery to clear cmos on a gigabyte board. There are two pins near the battery that you momentarily short with a small screwdriver or other metal object; that clears cmos.
I assume you are using the onchip video from the apu. Do you have a real video card to install for testing? Are you using a real video card?
You are going to have to start swapping parts with known good units. Start with the pw supply [most likely part to fail]
When you swapped mb, the cpu did not pull out attached to the cooler by chance did it?
OK, pw supply testers are not the desired way to test; much better to swap in a known good unit. A pw supply tester does not test the system under a load and for that reason, it is not infallible.
If you are going to work on hardware, you need some "Test parts" or a test/bench system for testing.
Note you do not have to fully install the test unit; simply connect atx, aux, and video pw [if used] Hit the ON button and see if the board will POST.
update back up and running the 4/8pin aux pw connector was not plugged in just like you said thanks for help
Many Thanks
Gary
