Constant "Not Responding"

There are quite a few programs I am unable to use due to them not responding and then crashing. File Explorer, some pc games, windows start search, and a few others. I'll try and open/run a program such as those listed before, and they'll go into "Not Responding" and then a few minutes of waiting, and they crash completely. Sometimes they won't crash and won't even let me "Ctrl+Alt+Delete". So any thoughts, advice, instructions that anyone can assist me with, would be much appreciated.

I have received a reply from one of our Malware Experts and the files do not appear to pose an imminent threat.
They also made the following suggestions.
Hard Drives: C: Total - 113470 MB, Free - 10382 MB; D: Total - 953766 MB, Free - 272687 MB;
Your C: drive is running out of space and it would make sense to move some of your applications from the C: drive, to the D: drive.

Run Disk CleanUp first.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...nup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=windows-7

Once you have freed up at least 15Gb on the C: drive, and as the results of screen317's Security Check showed the following..
Total Fragmentation on Drive C: 44% Defragment your hard drive soon! (Do NOT defrag if SSD!)

Did you defrag your hard drive as suggested?
If no, download and run - MyDefrag 4.3.1

======
As 360 Total Security seems to have missed the files found by ESET and for some reason Avast is blocking some of your programs - we suggest as a test, that you uninstall 360 Total Security and install Microsoft Security Essentials.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/security-essentials-download
Download > Update > Run a Full scan on your pc.
Report back should it find anything.

So before I do the cleanup, a dialogue box opens to check the boxes of which type of files can be deleted. Which files are safe to do so?
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Setup Log Files
Temporary Files
Thumbnails
Per user archived Windows Error Report
Per user queued Windows Error Report
System archived Windows Error Report
System queued Windows Error Report

Now my C: Drive is an SSD as well just to make aware. While I wait for the word back about which files are okay to delete in dick cleanup, I will test by uninstalling 360 Total Security and installing Microsoft Security Essentials and scan using that program. Will report back afterwards.

I would delete the following.
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files
Per user archived Windows Error Report
Per user queued Windows Error Report
System archived Windows Error Report
System queued Windows Error Report
I would not at the moment remove 'Recent System Restore Points' They may be taking up too much space but you may as your pc is not running correctly, need a restore point at some time.

As you have a SSD drive - do not run any type of disk defragment.
======
Report back when you have run a scan with Microsoft Security Essentials

I have tried running the micosoft essentials scan 3 times now, each time crashing my pc before 10%. Also tried doing the disk cleanup. and same thing, keeps not responding and then crashing completely. I'm thinking of doing an entire clean install of windows 7.

Run a Mem Test.
http://www.memtest.org/
Scroll down to 'Download (Pre-built & ISOs)'
'Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)'

Download the ISO file then burn the ISO to a Cd.
Start the Pc using the Cd and run the memory test overnight or for at least 8 passes.

It is best to run a full scan on individual Ram sticks if you can.
Or run the test but if any errors are shown - then remove all sticks of Ram and test each Ram stick one at a time,
and in different slots.
