Here's the scenario:
two computers connected with an Aten CS1642a dual view KVM switch
one graphics card has one DVI-I and one VGA port
other graphics card has one DVI-I, one HDMI and one VGA port
the switch has DVI-I ports (but is supplied with DVI-D cables)
two monitors, one with DVI-D and VGA, the other with HDMI and VGA
Will this set up work:
connect DVI-I port on each graphics card to the switch with DVI-D cable on channel A
connect console channel A port on switch to DVI-D on one monitor with DVI-D cable
connect VGA port on each graphics card to the switch with VGA cable plus passive VGA to DVI-I adapter on channel B
connect console channel B port on switch to VGA on other monitor with VGA cable plus VGA to DVI-I adapter
In other words run digital signal through one channel on the switch and anlaog signal through the other.
The switch can definitely channel analog and digital.
Thanks!
