I want to buy a used IPad 2. How much RAM is acceptable? Thanks.

depends on what you want to store on the device and have available offline
difficult to say whats acceptable for you
a few ipads i setup have the minimum RAM and files are stored on icloud drive - BUT to access them you need to be aboe to connect online

what do you intend to do with it?

ipad air 2 comes in 16GB and 64GB models £80 difference in UK
I would recommend the 64GB RAM

if you are not keeping any files - which remember also includes the Operating system IOS and any photos, music , magazines , books, videos Also APPS use a space as well
then you can get the smallest amount of RAM
BUT you really need to think about the usage
I have quite a few people who have purchased the smallest RAM 16GB (the operating system also uses this space) because , at the time they did not think they would store anything or have many apps and quickly ran out of space , when they started using the machine they wanted to download Films to play OFFLine and Music to play offline, books, magazine subscriptions and keep a lot of photos on the ipad to show people

It maybe worth getting the model with the highest amount of RAM you can afford
OR
if you are 100% sure you wont be keeping information on the machine - then you could get the smaller RAM models

What country are you in ?

There is also cellular versions - did you want to be able to go online, when you are not withing distance of wireless hotspot or home/friends ???
ipad minis if you are happy with a smaller screen
