  • This morning I bought a new Desktop Tower to replace the old one which was 9 y. o. and became sluggish. I found Lenovo 300 (i5) on special, for around $600 US(regular price is about $750).I think I did well but would appreciate expert opinion as well. Thanks!

looks a good spec, but that depends on your intended us for the tower
I'm not up on all the specifications and pricing in US
having purchased the item, I wonder why you are posting the question ?
Are you looking for alternatives and would you return the tower ?

For general use, it should be fine ie running office, watching a movie, etc. If you purchased it with the intent of running games, you will be disappointed. The nvidia 720 is an entry level video card and not designed for gaming.

Open the side panel on that desktop and look at the label on the power supply.
What brand name and model number and wattage is it?

I agree with crjdriver.
If you intend to use that new desktop for gaming, you'll probably need a better graphic card.
But you need to make sure first if the power supply can handle it and doesn't also need to be upgraded.

By the way, you made a smart move by going with an Intel processor and NVIDIA graphics.

Asking if it's good or not after the fact is a bit moot.

For that kind of money......you could have built one with a better hardware. As pointed out....it's OK for basic computer use.

As far as upgrading an OEM PC like yours.....is very limited. If you're not comfortable with building a PC....they do make pre-built or pre-assembled PC's that have way better hardware vs the low end hardware that is used in OEM systems.

Here's a good example of an AMD pre-assembled that comes with windows 10.......

No, I am not a gamer and just intend to use comp. for usual stuff(browsing,music,videos.....). I was looking at this one for 2 weeks and couldn't see anything better for the same price. I bought it on the last day of the "special offer". I am just asking "professionals", is it worth the money? On my end, everything is fine, fast and working like a charm. I live in Australia, where computers are not cheap as in some other countries. Thanks for the help guys!
