Hello, I have a chromebook 3. I have already used all the storage on it. I bought a micro 128 g sd card and inserted it into my chromebook. I formatted it but it still says I've ran out of storage. How can i use the sd card as internal storage on the chromebook?
I believe that they are like many cell phones. In other words, you buy a model with the amount of memory that you want or need because the memory cannot be expanded.
A quick Google search seems to confirm it can't be expanded.
So your only real option is to uninstall/remove everything that you don't actually want or need access to all of the time.
You may be able to use the SD card as external storage. In other words, copy files or infrequently used items to the SD card and remove it. When those items are needed, insert the card and copy the item(s) back onto the device.
Reminds me of the early years of computing where everyone spent countless hours copy files to floppy disks.
Personally, I'd use it as an excuse to upgrade and buy a new model with more memory. And either way, you will need to conscious of what you actually save to the device. They have their uses, but they aren't a replacement for an actual PC in many situations.
Also go through and uninstall any apps you don't use.
