After updating Windows (home version) to 1903 every time I sign in to a user account I get this box, after which a box in red comes up saying Classic Shell has been disabled by an administrator. But then Classic Shell actually works. Would anyone know why this is happening?
One of the disadvantages of using Classic Shell is that it has to be updated so it can work properly with the next bi-annual upgrade of Windows 10.
I assume you're using the version that was designed for Version 1803 or 1809.
I keep UAC disabled to prevent its pop-ups and display-dimming annoyances.
That's my personal choice, so don't assume that I'm encouraging you to do the same.
From what I've been able to determine, the Classic Shell project was taken over by another group.
And the last time it was updated was in September 2018 - several months prior to the release of Version 1903 of Windows 10.
There have been complaints of compatibility issues with it in Version 1903.
Is it possible for the incompatible Classic Shell to have interfered with the installation of the Windows version 1903 itself and corrupted any aspect of it?
