I'm trying to install 1AV Centre from Giveaway of the Day, but I keep getting the error,'"Unable to register the DLL/OCX" - RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x5'. I've tried installing as Administrator, and get the same result. Can anyone help.
Downloaded MSHFLXGD.OCX to the system, tried to register it. Now getting the error message, 'The module MSHFLXGD.OCX was loaded, but the call to DLLRegisterServer failed with error code:0x8002801c'.
Looks like I'm not getting this software.
1. run a system file check
search
run
type
cmd
when that appears right click and click run as admin
type
sfc /scannow
press enter key
if it reports all in order that is OK
if it reports errors
shut down on full shutdown
Step 1: Open Start menu, select Power button.
Step 2: Press and hold the Shift key on keyboard, while clicking on Shut down, and then release the Shift key to perform a full shutdown.
reboot and run the cmd again.
If still errors second full shutdown reboot and run again
So you are if necessary running three times
If it still reports errors could not be fixed on third run then go back to cmd prompt and run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
copy and paste that to ensure you have correct spacing
YOU must be connected to the internet when you run the DISM command
see if that reports errors are fixed
If it does then try the download and install again.
IF it still comes back with the rights error then proceed as here
cmd prompt - run as admin
net user administrator /active:yes
then shut down and reboot and this time log onto system admin account
Unless you have set one for the system account the password is left blank
See if you can then install the software
The errors were on sfc, dism showed clear, so I tried running the software, and got the error, so I used the net user administrator /active:yes, and still got the error.
This is weird. Tried to register the MSHFLXGD.OCX again, and this time was successful, but on trying to install the software, I'm getting the same error.
