Hi the issue I'm having is when I plug in my easy store external 2 tb hard drive my PC recognizes that it plugged in and if I go to control panel devices and printers its there but doesn't show up in this PC Devices and drives and is not assailable. Ironically the drive works fine in every other computer but my main computer. It is a windows 8.2 machine with an asus board with an i7 gen 4 processor with 16 gig of ram and also my cell phone does the same thing when plugged into my PC it is a Samsung Note 8 yet works fine in every other PC I own.
Greetings, yes I have tried them all and there are no errors in device manager. I also have an Alurtek external hard drive reader and drive transfer and when I plug that in with a hard drive in it it is recognized and is excusable. for some reason when I plug in my easy store it is recognized it is in devices and printers and does show up in USB devices to eject its just not in this PC where it shows drives that are excusable. My Samsung phone which is a note 8 does the same thing yet works fine in every other computer that I own. It has to be something weird in my operating system or settings just not sure what..... it shows up in device manager in list of drives also with no errors tried up dating drivers and it says best driver is already installed and device is working and disk management wont load if its plugged in but other wise loads fine.
Isn't recognized as being accessible (drive letter)
Another external HD works
Easy Store shows in Devices and Printers and Eject Media
No exclamation errors in Device Manager
No updates for device in Device Manager, all up to date
**Disk Management won't load when device is plugged in**
Phone:
Isn't recognized as being accessible, but works on other computers
No exclamation errors in Device Manager
No updates for device in Device Manager, all up to date
Question:
Under "Devices and Printers", if you right-click the Easy Store device and select "Browse Files", does anything show up?
Note:
In my opinion, the first focus should be a workaround for Disk Management not loading. This visibility is needed to see if it's not getting a drive letter and/or is set to offline. Since it won't open, try the following to gather more information about your device.
Instructions:
Attach device:
Attach only the "Easy Store" removable HD having the issue and give it a moment to initialize
Do not attach your phone (may have a separate issue)
Makes sense, just curious. There should be a couple more options. The option is not there because it can't see it, for the same reason as the drive letter not showing up. Try the rest of the steps under Instructions. If those steps can determine the disk status and volume, with Disk Management not working, perhaps a drive letter can be assigned from the command line.
