Hardware upgrade to run most games

Hi, Im just wondering if there is a need for me to upgrade my computer or if it is possible that I can only choose some of the components to upgrade so I can keep up with most games these days.

What I can describe is when I play ie: PUBG. Even when it is on the lowest of settings, I still experience a massive frame drop. But when I play Witcher 3 Wild hunt, I can play it smoothly on high texture, low shadow then medium settings for the rest.

Here are screenshots of my hardware details and also a photo of what my motherboard is. If I can get any suggestions on what to upgrade or retain that would be very helpful.

It is the graphics card
https://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=485&graphics=Radeon HD 6770
relative performance PUBG Lite
very low end as you can see

You would get far better performance from a GTX970 say - HOWEVER you will not find one of those NEW they will all be second hand

https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCGam...knowns-Battlegrounds/3944/14719.0.Max.1080p.0

No use going to really good modern spec of GPU
as your processor and system are generally speaking 2011
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...5-2300-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz.html

If you were to consider going for a card here is a list of compatibility with the board
https://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/Intel/Intel_DH67BL/458/Compatible_GPUs

HOWEVER you need to get the measurements of the card and then measure the space in the case
Additionally to that if the card has a power requirement ABOVE your present 108watts
you then need to look at the PSU you have which is not shown on your speccy extract

MY best advice is to stick with what you HAVE
Spending real money on a graphics card is not advisable for the system you have.
That decision of course is yours and depends on how much you want to spend to gain some performance on games.

Here is your board

Here is a guide on checking before you buy the card

So as you have seen my reply above, your response when you get chance would be greatly appreciated

My apologies. I was really set on purchasing a new video card with what I currently have on my PC. But when I read your response, I did not go through with it since you have mentioned it was no use. Do you reckon I replace my CPU and mobo to keep up with modern GPU's?

You said
What I can describe is when I play ie: PUBG. Even when it is on the lowest of settings, I still experience a massive frame drop. But when I play Witcher 3 Wild hunt, I can play it smoothly on high texture, low shadow then medium settings for the rest.
and I replied that the cause was your graphics card
and sent you a link to explain it, together with other details in a rather comprehensive reply.

There is really no need to apologise.
However please be assured that there is no real benefit to replacing the CPU, as the part played by the CPU in gaming is somewhat minor compared with the graphics

Your CPU
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...5-2300-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz.html
has four cores and is reasonable performance

Here is a list of supported processors for that board 1155 socket
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/desktop-boards/DH67BL.pdf
Yours is on page 16
and here is the comparison of performance
http://www.cpu-world.com/benchmarks/socket_1155_multi.html

YES you can go better but you will be most unlikely to find one new, as the socket is LIKE I SAID on my first reply -legacy 2011 and IMHO the cost of that and the card is unworthy of your consideration on a system of that age

I'm not a hardware/gaming expert, but I'll add "my 2 cents worth" of advice anyway.

Product Rectangle Font Number Brand

The processor in your computer may not have the horsepower needed for quality gaming with the newer games.

It also has only 8 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz RAM.

I agree - however, may I point out that

I have already posted the link to the full details of the CPU from Intel
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...5-2300-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz.html

and I have also posted the full comparison of CPU`s for that socket and the full list of compatibility from Intel for the board in my post 5

IMHO the point is still as I said, it is unworthy of the cost of even thinking of a CPU and graphics card update.

The main cause of a low frame rate in gaming is the card.
The CPU can, as you say effect it, but generally speaking the card, as I pointed out in my first reply is the main cause

It would IF keviin decides to proceed, be FAR better to upgrade the card first, before even considering the CPU.

As I have said the whole exercise is unworthy of consideration on that board, even forgetting the difficulties of trying to find a NEW compatible CPU and buying those secondhand is I think very inadvisable
