My computer recently has hanged for a minute or so every so often, but it seemed normal up until yesterday.
Yesterday, it hanged for a minute or so about five times in an hour, and im seeing higher RAM usage at times. On one such hang, the computer beeped four times. Keep in mind it was still on, booted into the OS, this was not a POST error code.
And the occasional random CPU spike.
And my laptop has played a weird one second voice through my speakers, that is a high pitched voice, and it sounds like "Discordka", or "Disorka" or something like "Discover", somewhere around there. Maybe its in a different language, no idea. It started up at random.
Voice has been happening recently, usually happens once every one to two days, has been doing on for... maybe four days to a week. Maybe it happens more, I have my volume on silent alot so I dont always hear it, probably.
Found out today, I went to install a Firefox plugin, and my Avast Online Security extentsion in Firefox was disabled for absolutely no reason, I did not disable it, and that raised a bit of a red flag for me, yet Avast still seems to run and scan.
I have tried disabling Avast and running Malwarebyte scans, but that dosent seem to find anything. Do note this was after I found out the extention in Firefox was disabled, so this wasnt why the extention got disabled.
My wifi card seems to disable itself and re-enable itself at random every 3-8 hours, though as of yesterday it did it once or twice in rapid succession a couple times. Though this has been happening for a few months now and I passed it off as a glitch, it hasnt done it in rapid sucession before.
I dont know if its just me being paranoid, or if its something serious. So sorry if I waste any of your guys time on accident.
No, it is not Discord, discord is always on "Do Not Disturb" and isnt always open when the voice happens.
I have checked Accessibility settings in control panel, and it seems to not be there.
If it helps, my NVIDIA in this laptop is kind of fried, so I am using the Intel HD 4000, and the NVIDIA has been disabled.
And I havent done Windows Updates in about six months or so, yeah I know that dosent really help.
I am running a second Malwarebytes scan just to be safe, my next step would be to run ESET Online Scanner, to see if this finds anything.
The laptop also does have some sort of overheating issue, however I may end up getting a new laptop soon.
Any help appreciated.
