I own a MAC OS Catalina version 10.15.3 I downloaded a Book with a ACSM file. Then I downloaded Calibre which is a dmg file. The message says that Calibre can't be used as a dmg and that you have to put it in a folder like Applications or on your desktop ... I did that. When I clicked on the Add file and went to find my book - it is grayed out and I can't add it. All suggestions welcome.
Both mention Adobe Digital Editions.
The 2nd link stresses a few time ACSM doesn't allow us to reproduce and transfer, and it can only be used on the computer where you have downloaded the books.
It appears that the book has to stay on your MAC and Calibre is of no use for what you want to do.
Thank you, thank you, thank you - It's disappointing and strange since the info from the library says to watch it on EPub and EPub has a converter for Macs to send to Kindles ... I guess I'll have to read this book on a laptop ... which is not ideal. As soon as the library reopens, I'll check to see if there is another way to access these files to my Kindle. In the meantime, - thank you!
I agree with what Liz posted and just want to add that there is some question that what you are asking may involve breaking DRM (copy protection) which is not something that we support.
