Hello, I have a windows 10 pro computer, Intel (r) core (tm) i5-2400 cpu @3.10GHz. My problem occurred after the installation of a wireless USB adapter from Realtek today, after having connection problems with the last one. The problem is on a video game called Fortnite. The ping seems to be better at first, but I have found that every 20-25 seconds there is a huge spike in lag and packet loss leaving the game frozen and the ping high for up to 4 seconds, which is very frustrating. We have looked up different tutorials and none seem to have errors relating to this one, would appreciate some help.

You did not include the Make/Model of your USB WiFi adapter. Realtek makes the chips that many adapters run on.
Personally, I do not trust WiFi as far as I can throw it. If you can run an Ethernet cable to your router/modem, you will probably find your problems disappear.
There are allot of things that can interfere with a wireless signal as well.
The make and model of your router might be relevant here as well. Remember, you get what you pay for.
