I recently bought a new ssd for my computer and have no idea if I’m installing it correctly. My computer had a an ssd and hdd. I bought a 2 tb Samsung qvo to replace the hdd and old ssd. I plugged in the new ssd and I kept getting a message saying “reboot and select proper boot device.” My computer runs windows 10.

First of all, you are posting in a hardware forum and no one [other than you] has any idea what hardware you are running. Post ALL of your exact system specs.
Next how exactly did you install windows on this ssd?

If you just installed the drive and did not install windows, of course you would get that msg.

You have to clone your old drive to your new one or make a image of your old one and boot a recovery USB and copy the image to your new drive. It is too complicated to explain here and depends on the system to be cloned or imaged. Just went thru trying to replace a Dell laptop drive a finally decided to order a offline stand alone cloner.
