0xc000007b Error

    Hi,

    I switched my laptop on today and have been unable to open many programs and I get half a dozen or so error message and programs crashing as soon as I have logged in.
    'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click OK to terminte application.'

    I am running Vista Business SP1.

    I have received the following security warning and notifications from SONAR/Norton:

    vrt86fa.tmp (amongst other tmp files)
    MH690
    W32.Virut.CF
    Infostealer.Wowcraft


    The only thing that I have done recently (last 24 hrs) that gave me a warning message was install Adobe Acrobat 9 from the official site, other than that I have not knowingly downloaded or installed anything and have not been on any 'dodgy' sites.
