I couldn't remove 1.tmp so I used the killbox program in safemode and I am doing a panda scan.
    Anything look fishy?
I just reinstalled the OS on a new faster hard drive and everything was working fine untill i installed the earthlink total access program and the new Aol version 9 VR.
I have removed the earthlink total access program and will show the EU (end user) how to access mail from the webmail. And I have removed the 9 VR version and will install the 8.0 version.
Do you think the infection came from one of the 2 programs?
I also installed the openoffice.org program but that had been on there for 3 days with internet access and I didn't see and computer problems.

You're very infected. There are no Service Packs installed. No anti-virus protection installed. It's really no surprise you caught something so fast after reinstalling the OS.
You need to get an anti-virus program on there fast. Then install Service Pack 1.
Do a scan with the anti-virus program. After all that, post a new Hijack This log and we will go from there.
