    ..on wink2k install.

I have heard that windows cant format a partition over 130ish Gigs. how do I avoid wasting the remaining 30Gigs of HDD space?

It is going to be the only drive on the system.

the motherboard is Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 and Harddrive is WDCaviar 160GB SATA 8MB cache 7200.

really would like help on this 1 please

I think with Win 2K you need SP3 for recognition of drives above 130GB.

If you click on My Computer and choose Manage and then Disc Management what does it say about the drive?

sorry for the delayed respones was out last night,

in answer, I havent got to that stage yet. I'm hoping that it will see 30 gig of unpartitioned/formatted space.

would it be worth my while making a bootable floppy and doing an FDISK b4 running the 2k cd, if so what is the dos command?
