Conrail, do you currently have the double gang outlet in the wall or would you be adding one in the wall?

Please forgive my American ignorance… LOL!!

but to get an understanding of what you have…

Is this the receptacle configuration you currently have in your two gang boxes?

That is a NEMA 6-20R outlet for use in North America.

The OP, conrail, has previously said they are in the United Kingdom (UK). The UK uses totally different electrical standards and outlets than what is used in North America. One of the UK requirements is that each outlet have its own on-off switch built into the outlet.

A basic 2-gang outlet in the UK looks like this:

Thanks Chuck! I appreciate it. While I have my masters license here in Texas (Reciprocates to most of US) most other countries are completely different with different customs and voltages.

so would the two gang be identical to your picture? Requiring the whole plate to be replaced as opposed to a single receptacle?

because if it’s the latter, I would leave one “Normal” receptacle and change the other for US. 2.0/ 3.0 charging ports.

Thanks Drabdr, no idea on what that is but as cwwozniak has pointed out with his picture, this is the UK type and I understand I just replace the front panel, wiring it up and I should be away, so thank you cwwozniak, I appreciate both your help and advice
