Mark these entries in HJT to be fixed – but do not fix for now

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\about.htm

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:5400

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

    O2 - BHO: PCTools Site Guard - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - blank (file missing)

    O2 - BHO: CWebTabsBHO Class - {C49A89A1-D366-4151-904C-16F69B1C444E} - C:\Program Files\Microgarden\WebTools\WebTools.dll

Now close IE, click fix checked in HJT

    Boot – delete this folder C:\Program Files\Microgarden\WebTools

    Post a new log

    Forget registry fix!

I'd fix these also but the log looks good - how are things running now

If you want a safe registry cleaner''

    EasyCleaner http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm

Use the clear files and Unnecessary files buttons - I do not recommend
using the Duplicates files button as many dupes are there on purpose.

The registry portion is safe also

HI, I had to wait a bit until spysubtract finished scanning my computer before replying to you. I downloaded that this evening too after seeing it on another site from google. and it let me delete the stuff this time.

I'll get rid of the registry fix program right now also, it's so hard to know whats good and what's not.

my computer seems to be running better except when i reboot it takes forever for nortons to start up, but that's probably normal

I'm sure i'll have more questions again, i'm going to tell lots about this site, your so nice and quickly helpful :)

thanks again for the link and the help
