I have a laptop that has no cd or floppy drives and to install windows 2000 i pulled
the HDD and put it on anopther system that I have and installed everything that i
needed. When I put the HDD back in to the laptop all it will do is a continous cycle.
It gets as far as the black and white "starting windows" screen with "hit F8 for
troubleshooting" .

I tried every option in that menu, tried changing BIOS settings but no luck. I hope
someone can help.
Thanks

The only way you can do this is by using an external floppy drive. If you want to buy one, post back and I can give you instructions on how to do this. Be advised, it is a lot of work. I would just go buy an external cd drive.

The reason it will not boot is because of the chipset / mb drivers. If you installed these or win2k setup detected say a SiS chipset and loaded drivers for it, it will not boot unless you have the same chipset.
