In Disk Management did you assign it a drive letter?

Well you got me if it partioned and formatted and has a drive letter, I have never heard of a drive under those conditions not showing in My Computer. Is this 500 Gb drive ide? If yes then if it's jumpered as "slave" then any other drive on that cable needs to be "master".

SATA drives don't use the Master/Slave designation. Chances are you've changed the Interface Type(I,II,III) and you may need to put the jumper back as it was.
