I just tried hooking up my laptop to my JVC IDLA HDTV with an HDMI to DVI cable. I've tried resetting, but all I get is a black screen. Anyone who's gotten a setup like this to work would be a big help.

My video card is a Nvidia 7900 GS.

On the laptop keyboard one of the keys will switch the display. Usually it's the Fn plus another key. Have you tried that?

have you got the latest video drivers from ?http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

after that you should only have to open the NVIDIA control panel and click on displays and multi display settings and choose clone or 1 off the other 4 options

Haven't try it but my remote (for the TV) has a HDMI/VGA mode switch button. Not sure if you may have something like that.
