    Hi all,

I've got a Compaq armada 7400 laptop and also an IBM E74 monitor.

When I plug my monitor into the laptop and turn it on both screens are displaying the same information during start up but once Windows 2000 starts the E74 just shuts down.

When I select settings in display properties it states
multiple monitors on S3 ViRGE MX but I cant seem to do anything to start up the second monitor.

Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

My laptop with the S3 Virge MX+ allows TFT/Extenal/Both but only is an Echo on both. It is not dual display. I swap with Function Keys on the keyboard or in the BIOS. The Drivers supplied for NT/95 allow software swapping as well.

Amazing! After all that all I had to was press the function key and F4 and I can switch between monitors or have them both on at the same time.

    Many thanks!
