I am looking for a 32bit command line utility that sorts files
and directories (having long filenames) much like Norton's
16bit directory sort (DS) utility. Can anyone help?

What about opening a command prompt and typing:

    DIR /B /ON

If you want this list in a file named dir.lst in the root of C:

    DIR /B /ON >c:\dir.lst
