    Looking for a definitive answer as to whether my graphics card is 3D or not. Bought new Dec. 2002; Dell Dimension 8250 with this graphics card: 128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9700. Also would appreciate opinions from others about the quality of this card.

    Thank you Mr. Swiper. To be sure I understand. Your "yes" is that "Yes, my Radeon card is 3D." ??

    in my book, ati=++++
    and pretty much any graphics card you get will be a 3d one.
    there arnt 3d graphics cards and non 3d graphics cards, there are just cards that are more and less capable of running graphic-intensive operations.
    for a simple answer: Yes, your Radeon card is 3D.

    By the way. It should have no problems playing whatever you throw at it. My old 9700pro still gives me decent framerates. Just don't think you'll be able to play with everything cranked up settings wise.
