3DS had an “exception occur”

My 3DS recently stopped working and just kept showing that an exception had occurred and it won’t start up. The photo below is what happens whenever I try to turn it on, with and without the microSD card in. I really need help with this, because I have pictures on it of people that I haven’t seen in years.

Has the 3DS been cracked/modified in some way?
Are you installing Custom software?
