I currently run a 2 monitor setup (video card has 2 DVI ports). I want to add a 3rd (and don't want to buy a new vid card - it seems there aren't many with 3 dvi ports on newegg). This led me to beleive that there's probably a way to do it without a different card. I don't think these will necessarily work but...can I:

    1. Use a DVI splitter to achieve a 3rd monitor
    2. Use the motherboard's onboard vid card single DVI slot for the 3rd port (in conjunction with the video card's 2).
    3. ???

This is the most ideal solution (already set up). When you say that it doesn't work well, what do you mean exactly? It doesn't always work?
